COVID 19 update
In the last few days we have received a number of enquiries relating to the Corona virus pandemic which is affecting us all at the moment.
The queries are all the same: what are our plans and how will it affect their booking?
At this point in time we are aware the situation is very fluid and changing constantly. We are doing our best to keep up to date with all news relating to the corona virus and offer advice accordingly.
From what we understand at the moment, advice is to avoid pubs, clubs and restaurants and to only make essential journeys.
However with this in mind we have no plans to close the glampsite in the foreseeable future, and unless instructed to do so by the government then we will NOT be closing our doors to guests.
As a small business it is not an option to close unless forced to do so, as the financial implications would be huge for us.
Our standard cancellation policy will remain in place, again unless we are instructed differently. You can view our terms and conditions on our website here.
Our terms and conditions do advise all guests to take out travel insurance when booking and if there is a possibility you may have to/want to cancel your trip then we advise speaking with your travel insurance to find out whether or not you are covered but your policy.
As with any cancellation, Peake’s Retreats will have to strictly stick to our cancellation policy. Whilst we do always sympathise with any reason for having to cancel a trip we ask for our guests understanding that we simply could not run a business based on allowing for trips to be cancelled especially with very short notice.
As a precautionary measure we will be running ‘self-checkin’ for the foreseeable future, which has the added benefit of you being able to arrive without updating us with your ETA. We will still be on hand to help and for enquiries. Rather than having face to face contact with us you are welcome to text us during your stay.
Our shared onsite hot tub will remain open at present. Hot tub use will remain at your own risk but we would like to point out that it is a very steamy, humid environment and sharing facilities such as this does lead to an increased risk of passing on and contracting bugs and viruses.
We will maintain a vigilant cleaning regime, and ask that our guests help us with this by using the cleaning products we leave in the communal areas to wipe down surfaces after use, and ensure that the facilities are as you would wish to find them and ready for the next person to use.
We know that these are very troublesome and uncertain times at the moment, but we hope that we can offer an escape from some of this during your stay with us. We are in a lovely countryside location that is not highly populated and the site itself does not call for much interaction between staff and guests, or between guests and other guests unless you chose so.
